filming camera and reels

Published at 9:14am 8th June 2012.

A documentary film exploring the life of teenagers living on Portland has been nominated for a top award.

Called Night and Day, it features youngsters who attend the Drop In Youth Club and was made with the help of local artists.

It's all about Portland's local communities and breaking down barriers of prejudice and misconception.

Night and Day has been nominated in the Best Documentary/ Experimental 17-19 category at the final Film Nation Short Awards.

Katie Knowles, one for the young people involved in the film said " I think the film being nominated is a great thing as it gives us a voice in the community".

The award ceremony will be held at the prestigious home of the London Film Festival, the British Film Institute of London's Southbank. Winning films will then be shown at the Olympic venues when the games commence in July.
