Improve Your Public Speaking in Dorchester

12:05am 10th June 2012

Casterbridge Speakers are looking for new members to join and benefit from public speaking meetings.

The Dorchester speaking group meet twice a month to engage in impromptu and rehearsed speeches on a variety of topics.

Part of Toastmakers International, Casterbridge Speakers are dedicated to helping members' communication and leadership skills.

David Smith, president of the group, told Wessex FM of how many members joined the group for its help in preparing for a new job, or weddings speeches.

"Anyone that can't even think about getting up in front of someone and speaking, anyone who likes a challenge or is into personal development."

Not only is is great for confidence but David insists the exercise of public speaking keeps Casterbridge Speakers members' brains active:

"Although public speaking is challenging, it keeps your mind active and keeps you on your toes.
"If I didn't have toastmasters, my job is a very boring job and life would be very dull too.
"Having toastmasters is very stimulating and entertaining too - and you can gain a lot out of it!"
