Unnattended Vehicle Crime Is Down In Dorchester

Figures obtained by Wessex FM show there've been 58 thefts from unattended vehicles in and around Dorchester since the beginning of the year.

Dorset Police say that figure is down on last year, when 64 crimes had been reported by this time.

10 vehicles were broken into while parked at beauty spots.

The advice from Dorset Police is don't leave valuables in car including locked in the boot.

Meanwhile, the numbers of people drink driving in Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland is on the rise.

Dorset Police have arrested 52 people in the first 2 weeks of their summer drink drive campaign - that's 12 more than last year. Most offenders were over the age of thirty.
