Top Award for Dorset Farm

7:26am 5th July 2012

Farmer Palmers, is the first family run farm park attraction in Dorset to receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The award recognises high standards in hospitality and is only given to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on the website.

Only 10%  of organisations listed on TripAdvisor receive the award.

"We couldn't believe our luck to have the opportunity to offer a new feeding attraction and then receive our TripAdvisor award in the same week," said Phillip Palmer (The real Farmer Palmer). "The experience the visitors are able to get from bottle-feeding these small deer is very special and humbling. It can only continue until the babies are weaned so it is a once in a lifetime moment for both adults and children.

"It is important to keep the environment calm and quiet, and we are limiting the numbers who can feed the babies. It is perhaps this careful approach across our business which has assisted in generating the praise on TripAdvisor."

In response to the award, Phillip continued: "My dynamic team has a passion to ensure their beacon of excellence burns bright and it has been recognized. We have been working with Bournemouth University to improve our use of social media and, as a consequence, our personalised response to TripAdvisor reviews has become an important process in our customer relationship. A good, traditional family day of fun is what my team offer, and even in these difficult times, we aim to put a smile on our visitors' faces, young and old alike. The whole team here has been integral to winning this award."

"TripAdvisor is pleased to honour exceptional businesses for consistent excellence, as reviewed by travellers on the site," said Christine Petersen, president of TripAdvisor for Business. "The Certificate of Excellence award gives highly rated establishments around the world the recognition they deserve. From exceptional accommodations in Beijing to remarkable restaurants in Boston, we want to applaud these businesses for offering TripAdvisor travellers a great customer experience."

To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
