Portland Port Embark on Charity Challenge

12:01am 8th July 2012

Staff at Portland Port are to embark on a gruelling triathlon challenge today in aid of two local charities.

They're taking part in a 5 mile kayak up the fleet, followed by an 8 mile hike from Langton Herring to Hardy's Monument, finished off by a 25 mile mountain bike ride back to the Port.

Money raised will go to Julia's House Children's Hospice and Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

Ian McQuade, General Manager (Commercial), Portland Port, said: "This years challenge is very tough so we need all the support we can get. We are asking local businesses and individuals to donate as generously as possible to these very worthwhile causes so that we can suffer safe in the knowledge that it is doing some good."

To donate online please visit one or both of the below websites or alternatively if you would like to make a corporate donation then please send your pledge to Hayley Walker on
