New Innovation to Encourage People to Recycle Cans in South Dorset

Weymouth (2)

12:17pm 19th July 2012
(Updated 12:18pm 19th July 2012)

Twenty new can-crushers in Weymouth and Portland are aiming to boost recycling during the Olympics.

It's a partnership between the council and 'Every Can Counts' to make sure more drink containers are reused.

The population of Weymouth's set to double for the duration of the Games... and that's a lot of thirsty people!

Diana Caldwell from 'Every Can Counts' says it takes six weeks for a can to be recycled and then be back on the shelf as a new one!
