Woman Attacked In Supermarket Car Park

A woman has suffered facial injuries after being attacked in a supermarket car park in Blandford.

The 26-year-old was approached from behind and punched in the face whilst unlocking her car at Morrison's on West Street.

She suffered bruising and some swelling on her neck.

The random attack happened last Wednesday (25th July 2012) at just before 2pm.

Dorset Police want to hear from a man who helped the woman after he attack or anyone who may have seen what happened.

Police Constable Stuart Loudwell, of Blandford police, said: "This was a callous and unprovoked attack on a woman while she stood by her vehicle.

"Unfortunately we have no details of the suspect.

"However, the victim was helped to her feet by a man who happened to be passing by at the time of the incident, but we have no further details of this person.

"We are very keen for him and anyone else who may have witnessed this incident to contact Dorset police in confidence on the non-emergency number 101."
