A post box in Wyke Regis has been painted Silver, possibly in honour of Weymouth's Silver medal Windsurfer Nick Dempsey.

A post box in Wyke Regis has been painted Silver.

But whoever carried out the act, possibly in honour of Weymouth's Silver medal Windsurfer Nick Dempsey,  could be in trouble, for defacing Royal Mail property.

Only Gold medalists from team GB are entitled to have a post box painted gold by the Royal Mail in their home town.

The nearest so far is Sherborne's Peter Wilson who's had a box painted in Cheap Street in honour of his achievement
