West Dorset lifeguards say they're sure the shark sighting off West Beach yesterday was NOT a prank.

Two members of the public described it as up to 6 feet long and came within 5 metres of the beach.

Authorities closed the beach for 90 minutes.

It’s thought the shark was probably looking for fish.
