Bike Ride For Cancer
12:02am 19th August 2012
Cancer survivor and keen cyclist Tom Pattinson-Smith has been in Bridport to launch a brand new sponsored bike ride.
Tom and his four children were at the Cancer Research Charity Shop yesterday.
The Rotary Dorset Bike Ride in aid of Cancer Research UK will take place on Sunday 23rd September and features a choice of fifty mile, twenty mile or ten mile circuits around the beautiful Dorset countryside and Jurassic Coast. Organised by Wareham Rotary Club it aims to be an annual event for cyclists and families.
Tom Pattinson-Smith had peripheral t-cell lymphoma two years ago and has successfully taken part in mountain bike endurance rides. He says, "Dorset is the perfect place for a sponsored bike ride that appeals to all the family. There's hills for those that like them, and easier forest roads for the family. I am delighted that my children can join me in this sponsored bike ride and help raise money to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured."
