Environment Agency Staff Hear Flooding Stories

People visiting a flood drop in centre in Dorchester have told Environment Agency staff they understand the July flooding was as a result of an exceptional weather event.

Up to 6 inches of rain was measured in some gauges over the weekend of the 7th and 8th of July.

Agency spokesman Nick Reid says they're not treating that as an excuse, but will use the information they've been given to improve their flood prevention procedures
