Roll Out The Barrel

9:07am 10th September 2012

Teams of fundraisers will join the Dartmoor to Weymouth Jail Ale Challenge this weekend (15th/16th of September).

They'll be loaded up with an empty 9 gallon firkin barrel and will have to roll it from Princetown on Dartmoor to cross the finish line at the Kings Arms on Weymouth Harbour.

They'll stay under canvas at the River Dart Country Park for one night.

Sunday morning will see the teams finishing in Weymouth 'by any means necessary'.  They're encouraged to find the most novel and unique mode of transport to arrive in.

The event will raise money for two charities, Help4Heroes and MV Freedom, a local boat made for the disabled in Weymouth.

Jennie Jackson, Chairman for MV Freedom told Wessex FM "What I really want is to see lots of people in Weymouth to see the guys come in because they have to put in so much effort to be able to arrive in style."
