Large Turn Out For First Remembrance Service

Crematorium 02

8:53am 14th September 2012

Over 100 people have turned out to a remembrance service at Weymouth Crematorium.

The specially arranged service - Sunday 9th September - was for local people to come together to remember a loved one.

It was the first time such an event has been held at the Crematorium.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Community Facilities brief holder Cllr Andy Blackwood said: "This is the first time that Weymouth Crematorium has held a service of remembrance. We are inviting people to come along to the service for an opportunity to pay their respects to someone who they love and have lost.
"We hope that lots of people come along and that we are able to organise this service for years to come."

A service has already been organised for next year on Sunday 8th September 2013 at 2pm.
