Dorset Motorists Encouraged to Brush-Up on their Road Knowledge

7:39am 19th September 2012

When was the last time you read your highway code? That's the question being asked by Dorset County Council.

With the local road network expanding and vehicle safety changing all the time, motorists are being encouraged to sign up to a Driver Refresher Course.

It's an informal sit down session with Traffic Safety teams, who'll explain changes to the law, new signs, signals and plenty more.

It costs £5.

Dorset Highways Traffic Safety Manager Robert Smith said: "For many people living in rural Dorset, car travel is an important aspect of their independence and we want to help people to carry on driving safely as they get older.

"We want to help drivers maintain their confidence as they get older and to continue driving safely."

Places are available on the following refresher courses:

o    Blandford Parish Centre, Blandford - Wednesday 10 October, 7pm
o    Bridport Leisure Centre, Bridport - Friday 16 November, 10am

Book online or register interest in the next available course in your area by clicking here or by telephone on 01305 224558.
