Parts of South Dorset have suffered some localised flooding after torrential rain battered parts of Dorchester, Weymouth, Bridport and Portland overnight (Monday 24th September 2012).
There are reports of large puddles forming across some roads into Dorchester and near the Sailing Academy on Portland, at the Osprey roundabout.
Amongst flood related incidents in Dorset, following overnight heavy rain, were a landslip on the B3162 near Broadwindsor in which several tons of debris blocked the road.
Also a mother, four young children and a dog had to be rescued from a car stuck in flood water at Mappowder.
A technical rescue team from Weymouth joined crews from Sherborne and Sturminster Newton using water rescue equipment including a small inflatable to get the family to safety.
We're advised to drive carefully and if you're driving to keep well behind the vehicle in front of you.
Wessex FM has been speaking to the MET Office after amber flood warnings were issued for the region.
Forecaster Helen Roberts says it's going to get better as the day goes on.
