Nearly 2 Million Needed to Fix Beaminster Tunnel
7:15am 4th October 2012
The cost of repairing the Beaminster Tunnel could reach close to 2 million pounds.
It's been shut-off ever since a fatal landslide crushed 2 people in July.
A Council Environment Overview Committee say it could take 6 months to reinforce the slopes at the tunnel entrance.
Bosses declined calls from local traders to knock down the entire tunnel and build a through road instead .. Saying it'd cost too much money.
The Council Committee will conduct further investigations before making a final decision.
