Local business owners have met today (Tuesday 16th October 2012) to discuss ways to capitalise on a new cycle route that links Dorset, Normandy, Brittany and Jersey.
The 265 mile track called the Petit Tour de Manche officially opens next year and is part funded by the County Council.
50 businesses booked into a trading seminar at Weymouth Pavilion to share ideas and discuss innovative ways to make create trade opportunities.
On the continent "cycle tourism" is a big business - and across Europe, it is estimated to grow to around £14 billion in the next few years, and Weymouth stands to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of the new cycle west investment.
