Wareham Newsagent Robbed

police tape

12:04am 23rd December 2012

There's an appeal out after a safe with a large quantity of cash was stolen from a newsagents in Wareham.

The incident happened at around 11:25am at Horseys on North Street, last Monday (17th December).

The offender walked through a "staff only" door to take the safe that also had a hundred first class stamp books in it too.

Police Constable Paul Holman, of Wareham police, said: "At the time of the theft there would have been customers in the store and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this crime.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the offenders leaving the premises via the rear door.

"This crime has no doubt caused the victim substantial financial loss.

"I would also urge anyone who maybe offered stamps in suspicious circumstances or at an unusually low price to contact us on the non emergency number 101."
