Frozen Road Traps Drivers in Sydling St Nicholas

Icy Road

9:08am 15th January 2013

People in a small village outside Dorchester are trapped in their cars because of sheet ice.

It's after freezing conditions overnight made roads and some walkways impassable.

Dorset Police has told Wessex FM 3 Mile Lane off the A37 and part of Portisham Hill has been shut because of the dangerous conditions.

Road closures are in place and motorists are warned to find alternate routes.

The Force has called on the Council to get road gritters out on the roads.
