Gritters Ready To Tackle Dorset Roads Tonight

Icy Road

5:08pm 21st January 2013
(Updated 5:09pm 21st January 2013)

Friday's heavy snowfall is still taking it's toll on areas around South Dorset.

Freezing temperatures caused thick ice and frost in places this morning making some pavements too slippery to walk on.

Many people trying to get into Dorchester  took to walking in the roads instead.

A MET Office yellow weather warning is still in place and it's supposed to hit minus 5 tonight.

With snow forecast, gritters, which have already been working in some towns, will tackle Dorset's major routes from 6 o'clock and will be on standby from midnight.

Meanwhile South West Trains has announce it intends to run a normal weekday service tomorrow
