Man Injured in Weymouth Petrol Station Assault

A man's been left with facial injuries after an altercation outside a petrol station in Weymouth.

The alleged assault happened outside the Esso Service Station on King Street in the Melcombe Regis area of town, at around 8:10pm on Monday night (21st January).

It's understood the 23 year old man suffered his injuries following a large disturbance involving several people that spilled over into the street.

Two 22 year old men one from Weymouth, the other of no fixed abode, have been arrested and bailed while enquires continue.

Police Constable Colin Bell, of Weymouth police, said: "I am appealing for witnesses to come forward and assist with this investigation.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this disturbance take place, or has knowledge of those involved.

"Witnesses and anyone with information are asked to contact police as soon as possible in the strictest confidence."
