Trouble Families Target of Police in Littlemoor Crackdown
7:29am 29th January 2013
A Police operation is underway to stamp out a wave of vehicle crime in Littlemoor, Weymouth.
It's after the latest incident, involving a torched car, yesterday morning (Monday 28th January).
Four people have been arrested on suspicion of arson - a 41 year old man, a 19 year old man, a 15 year old girl and a 16 year old boy - all from Weymouth.
Dorset Police has received numerous reports of arson attacks on motor cars on the Littlemoor Estate over recent weeks.
Inspector Les Fry has told Wessex FM these criminal acts won't be tolerated; "There are a number of people and families we're looking at who we think are all connected to each other. They're determined to make the Littlemoor community suffer. We the Police and our partner agencies won't allow that to happen and we will be targeting criminals who will pay for their actions".
Fry went on to call on the public to be vigilant and report any information they may have about who is committing crime and causing problems on the estate; "We need the community to let us know what is happening and who's responsible. Then we can take action and lock people up and social housing can take away their houses".
People with information can contact Dorset Police on the non-emergency number 101.
