Some Adult Care Services at Risk in Bridport

7:29am 1st February 2013

Major changes are on the way to Adult Social Care in Bridport.

Several services could be co-located after a review of council owned buildings found some of them are no longer fit for use.

Although Dorset County Council have said there are no plans to close any adult social care services in Bridport, they have said the Fisherman's Arms, Bridport Local Office and the Oh Crumbs Cafe aren't up to scratch.

They want to 'co-locate' day services to more 'suitable' premises and develop a 'community hub'.

The council think that will improve services and help reduce running costs and they're also promising 4 point 7 million pounds of investment.

The proposals will be discussed at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (6th February).
