Call for New Dog Kennels to Handle Strays in West Dorset
6:21pm 5th February 2013
West Dorset needs a new home for its stray dogs to be taken to before they're found permanent families.
Mary Bull, who with her husband Alan, used to run Woodlands Farm Boarding Kennels on the A35 near Bridport, also accepted strays on behalf of West Dorset District Council for many years.
Mary's now retired and recently closed her boarding kennels business, but is still being sent animals which need re-homing.
She's desperate for someone else to take over the role and the council's contract.
Mary says while the council's told her it intends advertising the role, whoever takes over shouldn't be under any illusions how difficult the work is. She describes it as 'time consuming and expensive' and will need a dedicated animal lover
