LISTEN: Queen's Brian May on Wildlife Conservation Mission in Dorset

Brian May

Guitar legend Brian May has been telling Wessex FM about his plans for an animal refuge in Bere Regis.

The Queen guitarist has bought a 155 acre site near the parish town which he wants to transform into native woodland.

The green space has been used for farming and was under threat of being built on for housing before he took it over.

Brian invited local residents to the Drax Hall last night (Monday 11th February) to over plans and discuss his ideas for the green spot.

May says he'll be long gone before the woodland flourishes and lives on as a safe haven for local wildlife, but saving it from builders is the right thing to do and he hopes people living nearby will agree.
