A Council Committee has agreed to spend nearly 1 and a half million on the next phase of the controversial Charles Street development.
West Dorset District Council leaders approved a package of proposals that include relocating the Dorchester Family Church to Trinity Street.
It's to make way for car parking and secure some pedestrian access though the Tudor and Hardye Arcades and will cost £1.4 million.
Leader of West Dorset District Council Robert Gould says they've been working closely with the church and things are moving forward positively; "the key aspect is to move the Church and clear the site. It will improve car parking and improve the layout of the existing car park and it will improve the overall look of the Charles Street development. The Church is very keen to move to a new purpose built church that improves access for them."
