Its A Rubbish Job

2:52pm 25th February 2013

A man living in Dorset is on a mission to clear the county of litter and rubbish.

50 year old Simon Owens is drawing up ideas to start his campaign and plans to spend months tackling the issue.

He needs 6 thousand pounds to take on the challenge and is aiming to secure some public funding.

Simon will plans to use the funding to pay for litter pickers who'll help during the project, but insists he will go it alone if he has to, but he may have to cut back his plans.

He says Dorset's litter problem is a similar story to the rest of the country but it still upsets him; "Just stopping at various lay-bys and seeing how much trash is dumped there, it's just very sad."

"I think it's so unnecessary and on a personal note, I want to live in a clean world."

"There's no way I can clean up the whole of Dorset but it is making a statement."
