LISTEN: Tales from the Arabian Gulf, West Dorset Sailors Talk to Wessex FM

Monmouth

1:02pm 18th March 2013
(Updated 1:04pm 18th March 2013)

Wessex FM's been back in touch with 2 of West Dorset's Navy Seamen who're patrolling the Arabian Gulf in search of pirates and smugglers.

We last spoke to Petty Officer Jack Bleasdale from Frampton and Weymouth AB Dean O'Callaghan, just before Christmas.

They both work in the Ops-Rom on HMS Monmouth intelligence gathering and working on counter narcotics and counter piracy.

Since Christmas, there have been promotions, plenty of time working in the Ops-Room, working out in the gym and some well-deserved R&R that included watching Manchester United training in Qatar and a trip to the Golf Masters.

Jack and Dean say it’s been a busy but enjoyable past 5 months on HMS Monmouth, and they're both looking forward to their homecoming on the 17th May, and reuniting with their girlfriends and family.

Click below to hear more from the lads.
