Dinosaur Eggs Up For Auction
8:26am 5th April 2013
A selection of local Dorset fossils picked-up off the stony beaches of Burton Bradstock are being dusted off for auction!
The collection of shells and fossilised creatures picked up from the seabed are up to 180 million years old.
Dukes Auctioneers are getting ready to put them under the hammer next week.
A number of other historical items like a pair of dinosaur eggs are up on the auction lot too
Duke's auctioneer Matthew Denney commented: Dorset is rightly famous around the world for the Jurassic Coast and the fossils that have been found there. The local collection that we have been asked to sell contains some great local fossils, as well as some impressive specimens from further afield.
We always get many buyers for fossils here at Duke's and we look forward to seeing many enthusiasts and collectors who are looking to add to their collections when we go on view from Saturday morning. Duke's sale will take place on Thursday April 11th with viewing from Saturday 6th.
