YOI Inmates Offered Training Courses On Dartmoor

A former West Dorset MP has arranged tough training courses for young offenders at Portland YOI, but with a big incentive.

Sir James Spicer's charity, 'The Airborne Initiative' uses skills he learned in the 'paras', to give previously wayward youngsters some self esteem.

Sir James saw the idea in action in Scotland but when that scheme folded through lack of cash, he wanted to bring similar opportunities to youngsters, convicted of crimes and serving their sentences on Portland.

Now he's looking for donations and fundraisers to ensure the scheme continues.

For more details or to pledge a donation you can contact Sir James Spicer by email at airborneinitiative@yahoo.co.uk  or phone on 01308 862337
