Dorset Charity Baffled Over Ban!
7:12am 25th April 2013
A local charity has been banned for life from using the Brownsword Hall in Poundbury.
The Committee of Trustees handed out the punishment to Help A Friend after they said they breached the terms and conditions of hiring the venue.
They held a charity ball on Good Friday - but paid an extra £50 to the venue after complaints of smoking in the lobby and food and wine being spilt on the floor.
Jack Daniels who organised the event - thought that was the end of it - until he got a letter this week from the Trustees.
The letter states they have unanimously agreed that permission cannot be granted for any future hire of the hall.
Speaking to Wessex FM, Jack says: "I didn't argue with any of the issues they had and I agreed to pay the extra money for the cleaner. A lifetime ban seems so ridiculous for something which I think is so trivial."
Wessex FM has tried to contact the Committee in charge of the Hall - but we are still waiting for them to reply.
