Dorset Residents Warned Over Smoking at Home

Smokers are being warned of the dangers of smoking in the home.
Fires started by cigarettes are the single biggest killer in accidental fires.
Every 5 days someone dies from a fire caused by cigarettes or smoking materials
That makes up a third of all fatalities in the home.
It is still the biggest killer in accidental fires across the country,
But Dorset Fire and Rescue service are trying to cut that number.
They are warning smokers of the deadly dangers of smoking, especially when tired or under the influence of alcohol.
The Kate Huelin from Dorset fire and rescue says " the risk of falling asleep before you 'put it out, right out' is just too great.
"just two or three breaths of toxic smoke can render you unconscious, so invest in a working smoke alarm."
