12:03am 5th May 2013

A flurry of savoury biscuits will be hurled across Dorset for the 6th annual nob throwing contest later!

The popular annual event is being held in Catistock and dozens are expected to turn out

For those of you who don't know a Dorset Knob is a small round biscuit.

Originally these were made of leftover bread dough, with added butter and sugar and left to dry in the dying heat of the oven.

If you can't throw very well you can try your hand at 'Knob Walking', 'Pin the Knob on the Giant', 'Spot the Knob', or 'Knob and Spoon Racing'.

There will also be Ferret Racing, local crafts, local music and a range of locally produced food and drink as part of the Frome Valley Food Fest.

The event, which runs from 10.00am until 4.00pm costs £2.50 and is free for under 12s.
