If you're an Orange or EE customer who's been having problems getting a signal in Dorchester - there's good news this morning.
EE have announced they're turning a mast back on TODAY.
Reception was so bad the Director of the Brewery Square Development wrote to the company's Chief Executive to demand that something was done.
Andrew Wadsworth says it was impacting on residents and tenants and up until now their voices had fallen on deaf ears.
Wessex FM also threatened to cancel our contract with the company.
In a statement to Wessex FM a spokesman for EE says:
" We try to provide the best coverage possible in as many areas as possible but, since the merger between T-Mobile and Orange, we now find there are some sites covered by masts that essentially offer the same service to the same customer. In some locations where this is the case, such as Dorchester, we are removing duplicate masts as part of our country-wide optimisation programme.
In the case of Dorchester, our research indicated that two masts did, indeed, cover the same area. However, after switching off a duplicate mast, we found this did impact on coverage to a greater level than expected. With this in mind we have taken the decision to reconnect the mast within the next few days, to return the area to previous service levels.
We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."
