The historic home of Dorchester poet and author Thomas Hardy is opening its doors over the half term.

A series of activities are going to be held at Max Gate, from dance performances, arts and crafts plus a series of trails around the house and its garden.

It's open to anyone who fancies going along from Hardy enthusiasts to families and people who're looking for a nice day out.

A bunch of students from Bath Spa University have organised the series of events as part of a major project. Dominic Pollard told us the location is beautiful and it's the perfect family adventure.

"There's such rich history at Max Gate, the garden, the house, the whole premises are just stunning".

To find out more about the week of events and prices call 01305 262538 OR visit their website www.nationaltrust.org.uk/max-gate

You can also find more details on Facebook, just type Max Gate in your search bar.
