A Dorset charity is calling on local bus providers to do more for partially sighted passengers.

The Dorset Blind Association wants to get audio announcements on our local buses and they're backing a campaign to make it happen.

Jonathan Holyhead from the Charity told Wessex FM that it's a serious problem in the county, "I know of people in Dorset who are basically afraid to try and use what limited public transport we've got because they are just afraid that they are not going to be able to get to places, and then, perhaps the ultimate fear for them, is that they're not going to be able to get back again."

Jonathan wants to spread the word about what the charity are trying to achieve. He added that, "We would love it if the bus companies in Dorset would get behind this. If they would like to work with us, if they would like my advice and help on how the service could be improved, they're welcome to contact me."
