Young Thespians Picked for National Theatre Festival

It's yet again proven that Dorset's got talent as local young stars head to perform in a top London theatre!
The Dorchester Youth Theatre (DYT) was chosen from over 200 groups across the UK to be in an annual festival at The National Theatre.
It's The National Theatre Connections Festival which celebrates new plays for young performers.
Their director, Jo Simons, told us how she revealed the news to her performers, "I said, 'but I'm wondering what we're going to be doing on July the 4th because... we're going to London' and of course we had uproar, absolute uproar! We had tears, we had stunned silence from some of them... it was just an amazing moment actually."
Jo continued to say that the standard of talent in Dorset has always been high, "It has blown my away! I've been running the Youth Theatre for about three years now and I'm always so impressed with the standard of performance in this area. I'm hoping the good news is spreading... we're spreading the word of DYT!"
DYT will perform Jemma Kennedy's 'Don't feed the Animals' on the 4th of July at the National Theatre in London.
