The Dining Room Restaurant in Weymouth are donating a pound per table to Marie Curie Cancer Care this month for everyone dining with them.
Owner Sophie Kermani Jibet lost her grandmother to the disease.
Touched by the support she received from Marie Curie Cancer Carers, the family run restaurant now want to give something back to the charity.
Sophie Kermani Jibet owner of The Dining Room said "The local carers that supported my family and looked after my Nan in her final weeks, were heaven sent. Most of the carers had been spurred into working with Marie Curie having lost members of their own families and that makes them even more special. My Nan passed away with dignity at home and we couldn't have coped without those carers. We know just how much cancer affects so many people and we wanted to do something to show our appreciation."
Amy Salmon, Community Fundraiser for Dorset and Somerset at Marie Curie Cancer Care said "it sounds like a brilliant fundraising idea. Not only will it raise funds but it's also always great to get the Marie Curie name out there so more people find out about us"
