Weymouth are in action in the Dorset Senior Cup against Hamworthy United tonight (Tuesday 25th February).

The Terras have been exceptional so far in the competition scoring 7 goals in their last two matches and keeping a clean sheet.

Meanwhile it's been announced that current Manager Jason Matthews will remain in the role.

He had been acting as Caretaker Manager but has now accepted the job on a permanent basis.

In a statement on the club's website, Chairman Nigel Biddlecombe said:

"Jason originally agreed to act as Player Manager for the remainder of this season whilst seeing if the managerial role was right for him. We are pleased to say that the decision has been a positive one.

The Board of Directors - for their part - have been more than happy with the way Jason has gone about his role and are pleased that he has agreed to accept the responsibility as we all continue to work together to ensure a bright future for our club."

Elsewhere, Dorchester Town have a well-earned week off after 3 crucial wins out of their last 4 matches, they're back in action on Saturday.

The Magpies have today announced that Warren Byerley's loan deal has been extended for a further month.

The striker, who's on loan from Poole, has been in great form since returning to The Avenue Stadium, and has played a key part in the side's recent turnaround.

Bridport have the night off too.
