One of Dorset trainer Harry Fry's horses is being pulled out of the Cheltenham Festival.

Long distance specialist 'Mendip Express' will run instead in the Scottish Grand National on April 12th.

The horse was due to run in the Terry Biddlecombe National Hunt Chase over a distance of 4 miles on March 11th, the first day of the festival.

Harry Fry, who trains at Seaborough, near Beaminster, will still saddle
3 runners on that day, Rock on Ruby and Vukovar in the Arkle Chase, while Highland Retreat races in the OLBG Mares Hurdle.

Fry's website states Mendip Express recently had a hard race at Newbury and the trainer thought it would be better to give him more time to recover and to aim him at another race which would suit his ability for jumping and staying.

The Scottish National is run at Ayr over an extended 4 miles.
