Magpies & Terras Out To Avenge Defeats
8:12am 1st March 2014
Hopes for a change of fortune at Dorchester Town could be well and truly realised if they can seal a home victory over Staines this afternoon (Saturday 1st March).
The Magpies have won their last two games and claimed 9 points in February a stark contrast to previous months where they've struggled to get any points at all.
Manager Phil Simkin says they're out for revenge after losing to Staines on day one of the season back in August;
"Unfortunately we lost to them 1 nil after dominating the game. We lost to a penalty 5 minutes from the end so we're out for revenge but more importantly 3 points."
The Gaffer says their recent run of form is down to an incredible team effort and the arrival of 2 loan players;
"It's a great turnaround for us and it's down to several of factors. One of those factors is the two lads on loan from Torquay. They bring some real quality to our side Nathan Craig and Ashley Yeoman, but it's been an all-round effort and we've played some good football doing it."
Dorchester's opponents Staines are 11th in the league table but have lost their last 4 matches and only claimed one win in 2014.
Elsewhere, South of the County Town Weymouth are also on home turf against Biggleswade Town who beat them earlier in the season.
The Terras have slowed down slightly in 2014 with only 2 wins from their last 5 games but they're still holding steady in the league tables 10th spot. They're opponents are 2 points adrift in 12th.
There's no match scheduled for Bridport who have the weekend off.
