Weymouth Football Club have withdrawn their objections to a planning application which could see their stadium moved to Lodmoor.

The Club’s Directors say it comes after Wessex Delivery LLP agreed that they won’t be forced to move from the Bob Lucas Stadium without their consent.

Wessex Delivery LLP want to put up 200 homes on the site of the current stadium.  In return they’ve offered to build the Terra’s a new stadium at Lodmoor.

The club say relocating to Lodmoor is just one of a number of options they’re looking at.

They now want to talk to their shareholders and are urging them to come to a meeting later this month.

In a statement to Wessex FM Club Director Ralph Ricardo said; “it’s an exciting time for Weymouth FC , who’s destiny is once again in its own hands.”
