Volunteers from Cerne Valley Cricket club are walking 30 miles today between rural cricket grounds trying to raise £ 1,500 toward their own playing facilities.

Volunteers from Cerne Valley Cricket club are walking 30 miles today between rural cricket grounds trying to raise £ 1,500 toward their own playing facilities.

Their route will see them take in grounds at Cattistock, Charlton Down and Cheselbourne before heading back to Cerne Abbas along the Wessex Way via the Dorset Gap.

Cerne Valley cricket club was established at their ground at Simsay Field in 1984 and the club now runs 7 teams in various Dorset adult and junior leagues.
