8:25am 27th June 2014

Weymouth will be playing host to a brand new half marathon next year.

The event, which will be held on Sunday 15th March 2015, will feature a route along the coastline, winding through Weymouth Bay, and passing the National Sailing Academy and the harbour.

Organiser Just Racing UK has developed the course for anyone training for events later in the year, or for people who just want to enjoy the local coastline.

Alan Rose, Managing Director, said: "We have explored all the very best roads in the area, and we are confident that the running community will enjoy the course as much as we do.

"The final few miles of the event are especially spectacular as they run alongside the famous Chesil Beach; taking runners into the heart of Weymouth. We are going to provide plenty of entertainment for people to enjoy at the finish, and can guarantee that it will be a fun day out for everyone!"
