Dorset Minor counties Championship Action

Cricket

9:41am 3rd August 2014

Dorset's minor county cricketers begin a 3-day game against Wales in Abergavenny this morning.

Dorset are currently 7th place in the Western Division table on 40 points, one place and seven points behind their opponents.

They do have the satisfaction of having beaten them in the one day knock out cup, earlier in the season.

The Dorset side's expected to be as follows:

Khan, Porter, Scott, Webb, Lintott, Bridgen, Park(captain), Wolstenholme, Kitson, Thomson, Hayman.

In Dorset Cricket League Premier division 1,  Weymouth (207-4) beat Wimborne & Colehill (199-8) by 8 runs
Swanage(185-9) lost to leaders Poole(187-4) by 6 wickets.

The results mean Weymouth's final 6 fixtures are home and away against the three other top 4 sides to decide the championship. Swanage, who finished just below half way, will play to avoid finishing bottom and being relegated.
