Portland's Jay Lelliot Misses out on Medal in 1500m Swimming

Swimmer Jay Lelliot missed out on bagging another medal in the 1500m final at the Eurpoean Championships in Berlin.

Lelliot, from Portland, came 5th with a time of 14:58.74, missing out on a bronze by around 7 seconds.

He didn't compete in this morning's 200 metres butterfly heats in order to focus on the 1500 metre race.

He did have some success earlier in the competition, winning bronze in the men's 400m freestyle, with a time of 3:47.50. In the same race, Serbia's Velimir Stjepanovic came first, with Andrea Mitchell D'Arrigo taking the silver medal.
