In a statement, the Magpies announced the termination of Phil Simkin's contract 'with immediate effect'.

Dorchester Town manager Phil Simkin has been sacked.

In a statement, the club described his commitment as 'first class' - with his transition from a player at the team to manager.

It also said: "It is with regret that the board of directors of Dorchester Town Football Club can confirm tonight that Phil Simkin has had his employment terminated by the board with immediate effect.

The Board of Directors would like to thank Phil for his contribution to Dorchester Town Football Club over many years as a player, reserve team manager, assistant manager and latterly as first team Manager."

The Magpies have lost 5 out of their 7 games this month, with Simkin's last game being a 2-0 defeat against Weymouth.
