Young Weymouth Footballer To Make Champions League Debut

MacD team redlands under 9's

Published at 12:25pm 30th September 2014.

A young Weymouth football player has been given a very special birthday present.

Jonny Stuttle plays for Redlands under 9's - but tonight he'll be walking out onto a slightly bigger pitch.

He's one of the mascots for Manchester City's Champions League game against Roma.

We asked his team coach Bob Mowlem who Jonny's favourite player is;

"I would imagine if Harts playing he will probably want to try and grab his hand because he's a goal keeper himself as well as a striker."

And Bob added they'll all be cheering Jonny on back at home.

"He should be on the telly tonight, live, so we'll all be looking to see if we can spot him coming out of the players tunnel and more importantly who he's with."

You can watch Manchester City v Roma tonight on ITV from 7.30pm onwards.
