Basketball - Jesters Too Much For Cowboys

Weymouth Cowboys faced their first game of the season away from home with a crushing defeat. The game started off with Jesters scoring three unanswered baskets, then Cowboy hit back with Kyle Houlden and Andy Steel getting some point on the bored, however it wasn't enough to slow the Jesters lead increasing. The Jesters passed their way through the Weymouth defence and took a large lead to end the first half 46-21.As the second half started Jesters come out running the fast break. Simon Dean and Steel creating offense for Weymouth to try and get back into the game, but Jesters hit hard and carried on building on their lead. Jesters finished as strong as they started to close the game with the win 103-49.

Coach Connor Doherty said, "It was a hard first game of the season to be defeated like that, but we have positives to build from. We’re going to find some tough matchups in division 1, but I’m hopeful the lads will stay determined and show through."
