Sponsorship in sport is usually a tough sell to make, but Weymouth Basketball Club has spent their off season working the phones and has pulled up yet another success. Joining ‘Mission Fitness Gym’ and ‘Massage Weymouth’, 'Coleman Insurance Brokers' have come on board to sponsor the club’s men’s 3rd team, renamed Weymouth Coleman Insurance Cowboys.

The club is growing every week as players are coming from as far as Poole and Yeovil to join the clubs playing membership.

Fuhrmann, “After last season we had difficulty with filling all the teams and roster positions. It’s been the opposite this year as we have attracted new players as well as players who had stepped away from basketball.”

With the club entering a new association in Exeter & District, Weymouth have signed a flurry of talent, including; Liam Wyatt who previously played national league side Solent and spent several years playing in the United States College system, Mike Willemse who has previous played Division 1 national league with Manchester Magic and re-signed Ian Manley who has previous played for the club and also Taunton & Solent in the national league.

Coleman Insurance Brokers Spokesman, “Coleman are proud to support Weymouth Basketball club and look forward to supporting the Cowboys in their first season in Division 1”.
